#TheWrap – Race Industry News for the Week of 5/4/2015

This Monday, the Chicago branch of The Special Olympics celebrated the start of their 2015 spring games with an opening ceremony at Soldier Field. Heatsheets was proud to participate in such a joyous and uplifting event as hopeful contestants filled the field of the Bears’ home turf.

Unfortunately, the first day of track and field competitions had to be cancelled due to weather on Tuesday. Good luck to all this season’s participants and fingers crossed for sunnier weather!

In other news, Heatsheets salutes the finishers of this past weekend’s races including the Flying Pig Marathon in Cincinnati, the Vancouver Marathon, the Pittsburgh Marathon, and Saturday’s Wisconsin Marathon and Half Marathon in Kenosha, WI. Muggy Lake-side temps climbed high enough in the Dairy State for racers to use the “flip-it” option to keep out the heat instead of in. Good thing Heatsheets work so well both ways!

We did it again! 🏃💨💪🏆 I remember our first baby 5k together like 6yrs ago and ever since we just kept doing races together. We learned to never run in shorts 🚫😆 I learned not to have amazing nails when doing an obstacle course race, to never underestimate how big soldier stadium really is when your running circles around it and running up and down the stairs 😬😈 Many races together and awesome memories, we got faster, better and stronger. We get to make fun of each other’s soreness after the races and think of our next adventure and we made up our mind already our next endevour will be not only to make it to a full marathon but a #TRIATHALON 🏃🏊🚴💪 Sisters than run together, CONQUER TOGETHER ✊🙌👯👭❤️
