Race Recap: ScotiaBank Calgary Marathon, Buffalo Marathon, and Vermont City Marathon

Running

It was a hot weekend for races but Heatsheets kept runners cool at three finish lines: the ScotiaBank Calgary Marathon, Buffalo Marathon, and Vermont City Marathon.

The ScotiaBank Calgary Race weekend is a 4-day celebration of health, wellness, community and spirited competition. The Boston Marathon qualifier offers a race for every age and ability. A tradition of the marathon, the Scotiabank Charity Challenge, has raised $4.9 million and gives runners the opportunity to raise money for Canadian charities.

Nearly 6,700 people participated in the 16th annual Buffalo Marathon, as incredibly high temperatures couldn’t stop these runners from prevailing. Thanks to Heatsheets — and plenty of water — runners were able to stay cool at the finish line.

For the first time in the 28th year running of the Vermont City Marathon, the race was discontinued four hours after it started, due to extremely high temperatures and humidity levels. Runners who crossed the finish line within 4 hours and 30 minutes of the start received an official time and ALL participants of the Marathon and 2-Person Relay received their medals.

Although we didn’t get any photos from the race, we still want to say congrats to all who braved the inclement weather conditions.

Heastheets is proud to be your finish line race blanket.
