Heatsheets Celebrates 35 Year Anniversary at New York City Marathon

As the TCS New York Marathon draws to a close, we’d like to congratulate the runners who crossed the finish line this weekend. We were honored to hand you a Heatsheets® blanket at mile 26.2. The spirit of a marathon is contagious and we loved celebrating your victory with you!

The TCS New York Marathon holds a special place for the Heatsheets team. For us, the NYC Marathon was the first world marathon major to distribute our finish line blankets in 1980 and we’re proud of our history and continued partnership.

“The New York City Marathon is where we made our successful debut,” said Chris Falk, President of Heatsheets. “For the past 35 years, we have continued to innovate and develop new products that not only keep runners warm, but also marathon blankets that cool runners off, and protect them from the rain or wind.”

“Over the last 35 years, directors of world marathon majors and of small, local races, have trusted us to get them the products they need, and help them protect their runners,” said David Deigan, Founder of Heatsheets. “As we reflect on this milestone, we want to thank our supporters, employees and the running community for a great 35 years.”

Again congrats to all the runners and we will hopefully see more of you at the finish line next year! See some of our favorite pictures from the weekend, below or read AFM Founder and retired Heatsheets CTO, David Deigan’s reflections on the history of the New York Marathon.
